5 years after this video was posted, the training organization for which I work just received a donation of a DJI M200 V2. As we started working on putting it in service, it started to look like we would not be able to load/run the DJI Pilot app on modern iOS or Android devices, and we'd only be able to operate the M200 with a CrystalSky. I found a used one in great condition, and it's very nice. HOWEVER, it apparently cannot download offline maps anymore. That is a big problem, and I hope we can figure it out. Forums seem to indicate no good support is available from DJI in 2024. I guess I'll find out...

Just got mine back out... used it once or twice when I bought it at Costco 6 or 7 years ago, and for various reasons never used it again till a couple weeks ago... Needed new batteries, but I love it! The problem is, I can't get the IMU to calibrate, so I am worried it will need some repair, and I have a feeling there will be no parts available anywhere... It flies, but I am thinking not as stable as it could be if the IMU was calibrated. I bet there is a forum out there somewhere?

That would actually make more sense and would be just awesome: imagine having the drone automatically tracking and following you as you climb up a road, a hill, a pyramid or whatever without having to pilot it or worry about it. But as it turns out, all this mode can do is keep a steady clearance from the ground between 3 to 11ft (anything outside that range will disable the Terrain Follow mode automatically!). Also, please note that in this mode, the drone cannot detect or recognize most trees, thus being dangerously unable to keep a steady height. So, besides being useless, this mode could potentially be even riskier to use than a regular one. Lastly, the only time I can think of using it, would be to fly over a hill when the drone is too far for me to keep sight of it and therefore unable to estimate a proper constant or safe height. But then again, as being the drone unable to detect everything on his path, the risk is higher than any possible benefit from using this "intelligent" mode.

One day I used my mavic pro to get a great shot while following me through a wooded area.. it hit a tree at roughly 50 feet in the air and came crashing STRAIGHT down to the ground.. it litterally made a dent in the earth.. I saw there was no damage aside from a broken battery clip so I tossed the battery, recalibrated the drone and was back flying! Def the strongest drone DJI ever made!

I just got a Mavic Pro a few weeks ago for $300. Well worth the money. I bought one when they first released. It got stolen from my garage.

Love this review! We have two MV88 mics and sadly have had major problems with both of them ruining sound randomly, so we are back to using on camera mics for now. We had problem with interference (maybe we forgot airplane mode? I didn't think so) and also wind noise, even with a furry cover, that cut out the sound - even in moderate wind. But I guess I'll give it another try. Regardless, love you both - you have a new fan.

The left shoulder wheel on the controller adjusts the EV or Exposure Value which allows more or less light into the camera. Watch the EV logo change on your phone (or my iPad) as you twist it one way or the other. I also use Litchi which I adore. I LOVE this Quad and have owned 2 of them in 8 years.

Can I program the drone to perform autonomous flights ?

I know the Master unit can communicate with all the slave units at the same time, but my question is, can the slave units talk to each other as well? I can't seem to find the answer anywhere!

Is Air Map the same as Air Control? The Air Map ap on my phone says is new and experimental. Air Map Beta? I registered Air Control, but after I went through the checklist to fly, and pressed "Go Fly" or something like that, my drone propellers wouldn't activate and I got a message "network connection required." What's that all about? Doesn't my DJI drone controller have a network connection - or how else could I get GPS signals, etc.? I'm new to drones. Just got a DJI Mini 3. Thanks

I had a strange guy asking me, 1. Can you fly drone far away and target specific Person or snoop on someone and not be seen? 2. Can it zoom in from far away? (Meaning can it zoom 2 miles in and see someones face.) 3. Can you do way points on a map from a couple miles away and have it fly out there and do them over specific places? (Meaning, can I setup way points from afar not being there and just send my drone out there to spy on people?)Was asking very strange questions and seemed pretty out there. After my drone did a couple way points for me I was just testing and getting use to my new Mavic 3 Classic. I started packing up and put everything away after it landed and headed out to a different locations or at least till this weirdo went some place else. Said, he use to be in the mafia and was worried cops were using drones to track him, etc. You can guess why I was being cool and looking to get some distance on this guy.

i highly doubt that most drone pilots use this though. at least non commerial ones. i think dji doesnt even make it that clear that you have to use it and many users will think using their genozone unlocks is all you need. though to be honest i doubt most airports care about sub 250g drones even though "technically" you have to notifiy them. as long as your not flying around the airport directly or up super high i dont really see the issue. BUT yeah i guess to be "legit" quote quote. using this is a good thing. but for non commerial users apparnetly even with a sub 250g drone you have to register it so that kinda defeats the purpose lol i wonder how many actual drone pilots use this tho. to be honest.
